Plagiarism Policy

AION Linguistica is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or any other form of academic misconduct. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must represent original scholarly work and must appropriately acknowledge the ideas, words, data, arguments, and findings of other researchers.

All submitted manuscripts may be subject to plagiarism and similarity screening as part of the editorial assessment process. The journal may use appropriate plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking tools to identify substantial textual overlap, unattributed material, inappropriate reuse of previously published content, or other forms of academic misconduct. Similarity results are considered together with editorial and scholarly judgment, as legitimate quotations, references, technical terminology, commonly used phrases, and properly cited material may contribute to a similarity score without constituting plagiarism.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all sources are properly cited and referenced. Direct quotations must be clearly identified and appropriately attributed, while ideas, concepts, data, interpretations, and material derived from other works must be acknowledged through suitable citations. Authors should also disclose any substantial overlap between the submitted manuscript and their previous publications or related manuscripts under consideration elsewhere.

Types of Misconduct

The journal considers plagiarism to include, but not be limited to, presenting another person's words, ideas, data, research findings, structure, or intellectual contribution as one's own; copying substantial portions of another work without appropriate attribution; inappropriate paraphrasing without citation; submitting substantially similar or duplicate work to multiple publications; and significant self-plagiarism or text recycling that is not appropriately disclosed.

Fabrication and falsification of research data, manipulation of results, misleading attribution, and other practices that compromise the integrity of scholarly communication are also considered serious forms of academic misconduct.

Editorial Action

If plagiarism or significant inappropriate overlap is identified before publication, the manuscript may be rejected. Depending on the nature and severity of the concern, the editorial team may request an explanation or clarification from the authors and may take additional action in accordance with established principles of publication ethics.

If plagiarism or serious academic misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to investigate the matter and may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction where appropriate. Relevant parties or institutions may also be contacted when circumstances warrant further investigation.

Author Responsibility

Submission of a manuscript to AION Linguistica indicates that the authors have taken reasonable steps to ensure the originality and integrity of their work. Authors should retain appropriate records supporting their research and should cooperate with the editorial team if questions regarding originality, attribution, or research integrity arise.

The journal encourages authors to review their manuscripts carefully for proper attribution, accurate citations, and unintended textual overlap before submission. The objective of this policy is not merely to detect plagiarism but to promote responsible scholarship, respect for intellectual contributions, and a culture of academic integrity.
