Author Guidelines

AION Linguistica (ISSN 2281-6585), indexed in ERIH+, welcomes original scholarly contributions that advance research and discussion in linguistics and related areas. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts that demonstrate academic originality, methodological rigor, theoretical relevance, and a clear contribution to existing scholarship. Submissions may include original research articles, review articles, theoretical studies, methodological contributions, and other scholarly works relevant to the journal’s scope.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise, and academically appropriate language. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is logically structured and that the title accurately reflects its content. A typical research article should include an abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review or theoretical framework where appropriate, methodology, results or analysis, discussion, conclusion, and references. The structure may be adapted according to the nature of the submitted work. Authors should maintain consistency in headings, terminology, abbreviations, tables, figures, examples, and references throughout the manuscript.

Title, Abstract, and Keywords

The title should be informative, specific, and concise. Each manuscript should be accompanied by an abstract that briefly presents the purpose of the study, research approach or methodology, principal findings, and major conclusions. The abstract should be understandable without reference to the main text. Authors should also provide a suitable set of keywords that accurately represent the principal concepts, themes, methods, or areas addressed in the manuscript.

Originality and Exclusive Submission

Manuscripts submitted to AION Linguistica should represent original scholarly work and should not have been published previously in substantially similar form. Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to another journal or publication venue while it is under consideration. Any substantial overlap with the authors’ previous publications should be clearly identified and appropriately acknowledged.

Ethical Considerations

Authors are expected to conduct and report their research responsibly and in accordance with accepted standards of academic integrity. Where research involves human participants, personal data, interviews, surveys, recordings, or other potentially sensitive material, authors should ensure that appropriate ethical procedures, permissions, informed consent, and institutional requirements have been followed where applicable. Authors should accurately report their research methods and findings and should not fabricate, falsify, or manipulate data.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research. All listed authors should have participated sufficiently in the work to take responsibility for the submitted manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and should ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript before submission. Any changes to authorship should be appropriately justified and agreed upon by all affected authors.

Citations and References

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources, ideas, arguments, data, quotations, and other material derived from previous scholarship are properly acknowledged. References cited in the manuscript should correspond to the reference list, and all entries in the reference list should be cited in the text where appropriate. Authors should use a consistent scholarly citation and referencing style and should provide complete and accurate bibliographic information, including DOI details where available.

Tables, Figures, and Examples

Tables, figures, charts, linguistic examples, transcripts, and other illustrative materials should be clearly numbered and appropriately titled or captioned. They should be referred to in the main text and placed in suitable locations within the manuscript or supplied according to the journal’s submission requirements. Authors are responsible for ensuring that permissions have been obtained for any third-party material for which permission is required. Tables and figures should be of sufficient quality and clarity for publication.

Language and Presentation

Authors should carefully proofread their manuscripts before submission. The text should be grammatically correct, professionally presented, and free from unnecessary typographical or formatting errors. Linguistic terminology, foreign-language expressions, transliteration systems, and specialized notation should be used consistently. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is accessible to an international scholarly readership while retaining the necessary technical precision.

Plagiarism and Academic Integrity

All submissions must be free from plagiarism, inappropriate text recycling, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified information, and other forms of academic misconduct. Authors should properly acknowledge the work of other researchers and use quotation marks and citations when reproducing material verbatim. The journal may use appropriate screening and editorial procedures to identify potential plagiarism or other ethical concerns. Manuscripts that do not meet accepted standards of academic integrity may be rejected or subject to further investigation.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scholarly quality of their submissions. Generative artificial intelligence and other automated tools may be used, where appropriate, to assist with limited tasks such as language improvement or formatting, provided that their use does not compromise the originality or integrity of the research. AI tools should not be presented as authors. Where AI has been used substantially in the preparation or development of the manuscript, authors should provide appropriate disclosure in accordance with the journal’s policies and accepted standards of scholarly publishing.

Data and Research Materials

Authors should provide sufficient methodological information to enable readers to understand and, where reasonably possible, evaluate or reproduce the research. Where relevant and ethically permissible, authors are encouraged to make supporting datasets, analytical materials, instruments, transcripts, or other research resources available through appropriate repositories or upon reasonable request. Any restrictions relating to confidentiality, privacy, ethical approval, or data protection should be clearly explained.

Declaration of Conflicts of Interest

Authors should disclose any financial, professional, personal, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation. If no relevant conflict exists, authors may provide an appropriate declaration stating that there are no conflicts of interest to disclose.

Acknowledgements and Funding

Any individuals, institutions, research groups, or organizations that provided meaningful assistance but do not qualify for authorship may be acknowledged appropriately. Authors should also disclose relevant sources of research funding, grants, institutional support, or other financial assistance where applicable.

Submission and Editorial Review

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s designated submission procedure in the format requested by AION Linguistica. Authors should ensure that all required files and information are provided at the time of submission. Submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial assessment to determine their relevance, originality, scholarly quality, and suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that meet the preliminary requirements may proceed to peer review in accordance with the journal’s editorial and review procedures.

Revisions and Final Proofreading

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial or peer-review comments. Revised manuscripts should address the reviewers’ recommendations carefully and provide clear responses where requested. Authors should ensure that all changes are incorporated accurately and that the final version has been thoroughly checked before publication.

Corresponding Author

The corresponding author should provide accurate contact and affiliation information and remain available throughout the editorial and publication process. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office and coordinating responses among co-authors when necessary.
